Specifically, the avians, who are at war with the serpentine, and have nawksong for as long as anyone can remember. I read it in one day the first time, and as I do with many books I love, I reread it the next day.
Their queen is the Naga. The lessons about love, emotion, race, and stereotype are there, but they are woven intricately into the characters and story. Some reasons I liked this book are the characters were great, the plot kept you always excited, and it was clean!
Sure, she hawksojg enjoy him, but only as a friend. It is not a marriage arranged by the parents but by the heirs themselves! Although the two hawsong people are willing to do whatever it takes, their elders are reluctant. Is he planing something? I suppose the way this story plays out is a little bit predictable, but it is the telling of the story and the very unique world that the author has built that makes it unique.

Okay, I simply loved him. But unlike Mockingjaywhich preaches against war by showing its horrors not that this was ineffectiveHawksong preaches against war by showing the contrast and beauty of peace.
It’s an amazing book to read.

As usual, Amelia’s writing style is flawless. Danica brings that safe element to the story. Each society feels real, and each feels beautifully contrasting.

I was surprised when it came that is is so small – it’s a cute book. The only way the two sides can ever find peace is if their leaders imitate it themselves by I simply love history and ancient stories and this book had quite a lot of them.

Early on the book, Zane informs Danica that he doesn’t love her and that he doubts he ever will but as people try to pull them apart via assessinations attempts he finds out that he was wrong.
